Trolltech Releases Technology Preview of Qt for Java Development
Trolltech® released an initial technology preview of Qt Jambi™ to its commercial customers and the open source community for testing and feedback. Qt Jambi is a prototype technology that enables Java developers to utilize Qt®: the leading framework for high-performance, cross-platform applications.
Qt Jambi technology integrates Qt with the Java® programming language – providing new possibilities for both Java and C++ programmers. This technology enables Java developers to take advantage of the powerful features of Qt from within Java Standard Edition 5.0 and Java Enterprise Edition 5.0, as well as newer versions.
I’m not sure what your requirements are .. but you can go for a Thinkpad, its robust and much more durable than other laptops. I use a MacBook Pro. I recommend a MacBook, but you might need to shell out 20-30K more. But its worth it.
But make sure that you buy a laptop with seperate graphics card and min 2GB RAM, esp if you are planning to run (god forbid) Vista.

I don’t think any more free Vista DVDs available right now. That was a promotion during the beta phase.
