UP 3D – ★★★

by Vijay Kiran

The last 3D movie I watched, ICE AGE 3 – Dawn of the Dinosaurs, was pretty disappointing – both technical and story wise. So I was a bit hesitant to goto UP – 3D. But I really had a nice time watching the movie in 3D.

As far as the plot goes, UP 3D wasn’t that uplifting. The story had a pretty good beginning and I kind of had high expectations. The plot became too predictive, and even ,dare I say, boring in the middle. As with any other Pixar movies, the movie did have a central point – Life is an Adventure. The movie did have some nice parts – the first episode of the movie telling story of love and life of Carl Fredricksen. But execution of the plot left much to be desired and didn’t have the same level of emotions you find in other Pixar’s movies like Wall-E or Ratatouille.

Technically, the movie was amazing on par with the quality of the other movies from Pixar, especially it was a treat to the eyes watching them in 3D. You can really enjoy the colors and the animation you come to expect from Pixar. Overall the movie in my opinion gets a rating of  3 out of 5.
